Sustainability

We’re known for our common-sense approach to construction, and we believe only sustainable construction makes sense.

Laishley builds for natural advantage.

We employ timber frame building – its cutting-edge efficiency shaves a third off the time of a conventional build. Multi-functional, precision-build forms offer maximum design flexibility and low running cost, using long-lasting, eco-friendly materials. Timber frame softwood comes from environmentally sustainable forests in the U.K. and Europe. Built-in thermal insulation conserves energy and heating costs. We also have a high appreciation for traditional ecological solutions – maximising – maximising natural light, building solidly to stand up to time and the elements – simple, sensible, sustainable elegance.

Laishley builds for tomorrow... and for yesterday.

Sustainability also means thinking ahead for a community as much as its natural environment. We’re excited about some of our more innovative current projects, such as ultra-contemporary pod-like “micro-homes”. As part of a Weymouth regeneration effort, we’re creating flats that can be used for the 2012 Olympics and beyond. But our proudest sustainability successes follow the old-fashioned directive of “preserve and reuse”. Specialty restoration and refurbishment work extends the life of treasured heritage buildings, ensuring that future generations may appreciate the beauty and value of livable history.

Laishley is registered with the NHBC, which upholds sustainability and best practice for building regulations, contaminated land management, community social engagement and innovation in construction.
